In over twenty years of her career, Yael Naim, a French-Israeli singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, score composer and producer, has become an essential artist on the French and international music scene.
From the revolutionary success of her song "New Soul", synchronized for Apple's MacBook Air commercial (number 1 on the French singles chart for 14 weeks and in the top 10 of the Billboard chart in the United States), to her latest deeply intimate album "Night Songs", Yael tirelessly seeks to create her own sound world through a series of increasingly captivating albums, blending folk and organic pop with classical ensembles such as choirs, brass, wind, or strings.
Yael is preparing to release a new album, "Solaire", in early 2026.
With "Solaire", Yael surprised us all by shattering everything we thought we knew about her, unveiling a bold, new original sound and story. In a fearless departure from her previous work, she blends unexpected musical elements with a narrative that challenges conventions. This emerging musical style blends electronic and orchestral production, creating a rich, cinematic soundscape. Synths and digital beats merge with sweeping strings, brass and winds, delivering a powerful contrast. The lyrics, often reflective and deeply personal, focus on themes of self and social liberation, addressing issues like identity, freedom, and breaking societal constraints. This fusion captures a raw emotional depth, balancing introspection with a collective call for change, all while pushing the boundaries of genre and expression.
In parallel, Yael Naim is at the heart of a documentary co-written with director Jill Coulon: “Yael Naim, A New Soul”. The result of six years of filming, this intimate and sensitive film delves deeply into Yael’s artistic journey, unfolding through a constant dialogue between her inner life and creative process.
Funkindustry channels the vibrant legacy of 20th-century African-American music, fusing the raw energy of funk, the smooth allure of R&B, and the sensual groove of acid jazz.
In 2021, the band released their debut album, featuring the single "Gimme All You Got." To celebrate its release, Funkindustry invited Japanese locking dance crews to submit their own choreographies, creating a cross-cultural celebration of movement and music. The album also marked their first collaboration with Japanese rapper Jua on the track and music video for "Suddenly".
Inspired by their shared love of City Pop, Funkindustry followed up with a tribute EP to the genre. Released in June 2023, "Midnight City Lovers" features five duets with renowned Japanese female vocalists, including Asako Toki and Natsu Summer. The lead single, "Loneliness", had its music video shot in both Paris and Tokyo. The cover artwork was created by celebrated Japanese illustrator Hiroshi Nagai, known for his iconic depictions of urban summer nostalgia. To support the release, the band embarked on a tour across Japan, with performances in Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Okayama.
In 2024, Funkindustry expanded their international collaborations, starting with the single "Etretat", a French-language cover of Ryusenkei & Hitomitoi’s "Kanashiikurai Diamond," performed with French artist Clair. They followed it up with "Free Your Heart," featuring Korean City Pop artist uju and "Moonlight Serenade," a duet with Japanese singer and actress Rie Yoshizawa.
In October, Funkindustry kicked off their latest tour with a series of electrifying performances across Asia, highlighted by the release of their newest single, 'Misty Lady' — a duet with Taiwanese artist Ahh G.
The A&R and executive production of the EP and singles, along with the booking of both Japan tours, were managed by Nouvelle Collection GK.
